Getting pre baby body back!

 

After having my son I thought I wasn’t going to be able to have time to get back into shape or lose the weight that I wanted. But I did! Now that I am 12 weeks postpartum I am extremely happy with where I’m at. And I want to share what I’ve been doing. It took 9 months for me to put on that weight so of course, losing it would take some time.

I can be impatient so I was determined to get myself back at it after two weeks. But you should always listen to your body whether you're ready to start working out again. When I was feeling up to it I started doing 30 minutes walks every day nothing too intense since your body goes through so much trauma during labor. Eventually, I started to some body weight exercises that incorporated jumping lunges, squats, arm, and abs. Some people have asked me how do I find the time to workout? Well, as tired as I am in the morning I make myself do a workout for at least 30 minutes because I always feel more energized and like myself afterward. It’s not easy to do when you have a newborn but trust me you will thank yourself in the end. Once I was about five weeks postpartum I started doing my circuit training (BBG) and running again. At first, I could only get through two or three round of circuit training now, that I have been consistent with my workouts It is much easier to complete them. 

Now eating healthy is the key part to losing the weight. I am a huge fan of smoothies since they are easy to put together and you get a ton of nutrients depending on what you put in. My mother-in-law was a massive help with this and would make me a green smoothie every day for lunch. It had spinach, kale, chard, avocado, banana, pineapple, raw protein powder, coconut water and all kinds of superfoods. It is amazing! Smoothies keep you full and help with getting into shape. Since you don’t chew smoothies and drink them your body is able to absorb all the vitamins and minerals it needs. The key is to eat foods that are nutrient dense and drinking plenty of water. Below is an example of meals that I eat during the week. It varies depending what I feel like making!
