Welcome, Hudson Franklin Schultz our new addition to the family. Josh and I are so overwhelmed with love for this little guy. It has been a while since I've posted last but all my moms out there know how little time you have with a newborn. He is everything and more than we could have asked for. Even though I'm endlessly tired every day it's worth it.
Hudson was born Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 4:31 pm. Most people that I talked to while I was pregnant were telling me with the first baby you usually go late. But, this little guy came a week early (which I was happy with). I started having contractions Friday night but they were irregular with slight pressure. Saturday it started to happen again. We are watching the Final Four game since SU was playing and contractions started again. This time, the contractions I had to start my breathing to get through them. It wasn't like I was in major pain when they started. They were coming every 6 minutes and around 10 pm they were coming every two minutes. I told Josh that I think were needed to go in, so we called the doctor and sure enough they wanted to see us. Once we got the okay Josh grabbed everything that we packed on Friday and we were off. Once we got to the hospital I got checked to see if they were going to admit me and see how far dilated I was. The nurse told me I was four to five centimeters and being admitted to have our boy.
As the hours past the contractions were getting more intense and it didn't feel like I was progressing. After about seven hours the doctor came in and said they were going to break my water so I could start dilating faster. After our doctor broke my water I could tell we might be getting closer. There was much more pressure and now my contractions were a minute apart. When I hit nine centimeters I felt the need to push. I was nine centimeters for hours and wasn't getting to ten. I told my nurse I would feel better to push so I did. After two and a half hours of pushing, nothing happened. They got the doctor to come in and help me get fully dilated. Now once I had gotten there, an hour or so later Hudson was born. And we are so in love with him every day. xoxo
Thank you Emily Elizabeth Studios for these beautiful newborn photos!
